Welcome

Hello and welcome to Chris Milne's photography site, feel free to have a look around and explore.  You will find a blog which will show you pictures along with some context about the events that I have recently attended and there is also my portfolio where you will find some of my best photographs.  There are also plenty of other sections but I'll allow you to have a thorough look around to find out more about who I am and the showcases of my work.

Autumn In Disguise, Cafe Drummonds

Short blog here, but definitely a worthwhile read if you want to find out about a few new excellent bands!  The show was the Aberdeen date of Autumn In Disguise's October UK tour.  Autumn In Disguise are from Aberdeen so this gig, at the well known, locally, Cafe Drummonds, was their hometown gig.  They were on the tour with We Start Partys from Bristol and As We Climb from Cambridge.  Local support came from Entrosolet and Adrienne.

A few Moray scenes

I have been out and about with the camera a lot recently, and have managed to take a few photos that I was rather pleased with!

With the traditional October unsettled weather it made for some interesting shots.  However, it has been very cold out there the last few days - which is a harsh contrast to the tee shirt weather the brought in October only a couple of weeks ago!

RAF Leuchars Airshow 2011

The 2010 edition of the RAF Leuchars Battle of Britain at home day that also featured the Tornado F3's farewell celebrations was an excellent line-up, blessed with lovely weather it was always going to be a hard show to beat.  Unfortunately, this year, 2011, did indeed struggle to even come close to its predecessor.  Chris Milne reported for AeroResource.

Aberdeen-Dyce October 2011

Seeing as I was going through to Aberdeen, I thought it would be rude to stop at Dyce Airport on the way past.  I arrived there about midday and met a couple of good friends who are locals - we quickly drove off to the mound as the Azerbaijan Airlines A319 was showing signs of movement.

The weather was terrible, but when the Air France Embraer 195 departed, and the AZAL A319 departed there was a small weather gap allowing some okay photos!  The last photo of the EasyJet A319 shows just how bad they got a few minutes later.

5x5x5 video launch

A few weeks back I attended an event which marked the end point of the 5x5x5 project.

You're probably wondering what the 5x5x5 project is?  Well, it was an exciting idea of creator Tom Duncan which involved 5 local music bands, 5 local budding directors and 5 local visual artists.  Each band then created a music video with their director and visual artist, something most of the five bands had never done before.  The idea of the project was to promote creativity, get more local bands noticed and give the directors and visual artists good practice and experience.

After the videos were created a 5x5x5 video launch event was held at East Grange's The Loft Cowshed venue which was looking very much full as the night got into full swing.  It started off with a short introduction from Tom Duncan explaining how well he thought it had went before he handed off to the first band - each band were to show their video then play a short set.  Two of the five bands were unable to play a short set so the live music aspect of the night featured The Strives, Be Like Pablo and Team Kapowski.  It was an well co-ordinated event which summarised the project in many ways - a success and an enjoyable time for all.
