Everyone loves that Friday feeling when they go home, slump back into a chair and enjoy a break from it all. Â However, this Friday was different. Â I would be sitting in a chair, yes, but this chair would be a few thousand feet above Moray.
After school, my uncle took me to Easterton airfield where the Jabiru he has shares in resides. Â I had flown with him before in the old Jabiru, but this one had 4 seats as opposed to 2 and much more power. Â It was a lovely afternoon when we got there and the sun was shining and it was even warm enough to be in tee-shirts - which many of you will know is not often achievable in Scotland's Septembers!
Unfortunately as the flight progressed the weather digressed and the landscapes became less vibrant. Â It was a fantastic flight and a big thanks to my Uncle for making it happen!Â
The first stop was over my current, and soon to be new school sitting next together. Â One old and crumbling, the other quite rapidly becoming complete.
The next stop was down the coast by Hopeman and Buckie then past Lossie where I got a quick snap of the perpendicular harbours there. Â If you look to the middle left where there is a building with red tarmac then you have spotted 'Marina Park', the location of the Wall of Rock event I was photographing at a couple of weeks back.
Â
I always find it amazing when you see the texture of water from the air, especially when the sun is glinting on it. Â It looks extremely interesting!Â
Then we reached Portnockie where the clouds began dominating the sky, luckily we got there just in time to get a few pictures with the sun still shining!Â
We then flew towards Ben Rinnes over the new Drummuir windfarm where as we flew over the construction of a windfarm was taking place! Â There were pieces of windmill turbines all over the place!Â
And with that it was time to head back to Easterton, a fantastic flight. Â Very enjoyable and we got to see some superb aerial views of Moray!Â
